Our Story
We built Coastal Coffee Roasters around a simple belief: that the best cup starts long before the brew. It starts with the bean, the farm, and the hands that tended it.
Coastal Coffee Roasters came from a frustration familiar to any serious coffee person: the best cafés didn't roast, and the best roasters didn't have places you'd want to spend the morning.
We set out to build both in one place. Our roastery sits at the heart of the café — not hidden out back, but visible, present, part of the experience. When you're drinking your pour-over, you might smell the next batch coming through.
We landed on Carrer de Balmes 42 because Eixample felt right: a neighbourhood of locals who know what they want, close enough to Passeig de Gràcia to welcome the curious traveller, but grounded enough to feel like someone's neighbourhood.
The Nordic influence in our aesthetic isn't decorative — it's functional. Clean lines. Thoughtful materials. Nothing that doesn't belong. The idea being that if the space is calm and considered, you'll taste the coffee more clearly.
What We Believe
Every bean we use is traceable to its farm. We know the altitude, the process, and the harvest date. We believe you should too — just ask us.
We roast in-house, in small batches. Nothing sits on the shelf for weeks. When you take a bag home, it's at its peak — not past it.
A focused menu. A minimal space. We don't add things unless they make the experience better. Less noise means more signal in every cup.
